Improv Nashville is so happy to once again bring the best in comedy to Music City!
Though we have closed our theater's doors, we've continued to work behind the scenes to bring you quality comedy events.
Since its start in 2004, Improv Nashville has boasted regularly sold out improv/sketch/stand-up shows, featured wonderful special guests from the national comedy scene to local country stars, garnished multiple "best of..." awards, became the go-to company for fun valuable corporate training and nutured amazing students who have gone on to conceive their own successful troupes.
In 2009, our lease at the 12th South location was up and we decided to close in order to plan the future of the next Improv Nashville. Why close in a period of growth? Because with so much success in a relatively short time, we were confident that we'd come back even fatter and funnier than we had ever been. (And we've been eating a lot.)
First up: Jen Kirkman! As a stand-up comedian, television writer and actress, Jen is a staff writer for NBC's “Perfect Couples” on NBC, as well as a roundtable regular on E!'s "Chelsea Lately." Jen was also the narrator of HBO’s “Drunk History” which received the Jury Prize for “Best Short Film” at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010. In addition to all that, Jen has performed comedy all over the world...some of her television appearances include spots on: “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson”, “Late Friday” on NBC, Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend”, The BBC UK’s “The World Stands Up”.
So, welcome back, Nashville! We have many more exciting announcements to make as they become official. In the meantime, we hope to see your adorable faces on May 6th! We'll bring the snacks!*
