When we started Improv Nashville in 2005, many said we would be another flash in the pan of improv troupes this city has seen over the decades. Now, as we fast-forward to four years later, and The Improv Nashville Comedy Theater, the city's only venue for the best in local comedy, is:
· selling out improv, sketch and stand-up shows
· featuring wonderful special guests that would have never dreamt of standing on a comedy stage!
· bringing you some of Chicago's best improv
· getting boatloads of press and winning "best of..." awards
· nuturing amazing students to be Nashville's next top comedy actors
· becoming the go-to company for fun valuable corporate training
Our lease at the 12th South location is up and we have decided to close and take the summer off to plan the future of the next Improv Nashville Comedy Theater. Why close in a period of growth? Because with so much success in a relatively short time, we are confident that we will come back even fatter and funnier than we have ever been. (Well, we plan to eat a lot.)
We would like to thank every cast member that has graced our stage. Their tiredless dedication and talent has given us our stellar reputation. We would also like to thank all of our students for their passion and eagerness to expose themselves (not in that way...eeew!). Most importantly, we would like to thank each and every one of YOU for all the support and laughter you have provided us over these years. If not for you, we would all still be playing make-believe in our basements.
Here's the good news!! We've got some incredible shows lined up for our last month. If you or someone you know has been talking about coming out to one of our shows, now's the time! We anticipate shows selling out rather quickly this month, so we suggest buying in advance.
Also, while we are closing down the theater, and will further cease shows and classes after April 26th, we will continue to bring you the finest corporate training and private performances in the region. If you have worked with us in the past, or were interested in working with us in the future, you are still invited to contact us anytime.
So, thank you, Nashville! You have a really cute laugh.
